Hello!
I’m Lauren Heath, a children's book illustrator from Phoenix, Arizona now based in Brooklyn, New York.
I graduated with a BFA in Illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Arts in Baltimore, Maryland. My main areas of work include storytelling illustrations, character design, hand lettering, and patterns. My work is inspired by natural textures, mid-century shapes, movement, and light.
While my professional work is mainly digital, I love playing with traditional mediums like gouache, colored pencils, watercolor, and ink to expand my creativity. I like podcasts, baking in my tiny kitchen, and owning way too many pens.
I've illustrated three children's books with Make Way for Books, an Arizonan non-profit organization that provides early literacy services and resources to help children develop critical literary skills and a lifelong love of learning.
As a children’s book illustrator, my goal is to tell diverse and inclusive stories that inspire others. I am always interested in new opportunities and creative projects as well as representation, and can be contacted at laurenheathart@gmail.com or on my contact page.
